Jim will teach us how to become aware of the scams that are out there and perhaps be able to implement changes to protect both our companies and applicants in the process.

Overview of Session:
This (1 hour) training class helps HR Recruiters and Jobseekers recognize and avoid common frauds and scams in the seeking and hiring process. You’ll learn how to spot red flags, protect personal information, and verify job offers and job seekers. The course offers practical tips and real examples to keep you safe, build trust, and make smarter decisions when looking for or filling jobs.
Jim McConnell has had the privilege of working in Corporate Security for over 30 years and in multiple critical infrastructure industries for over 33 years, most recently as a Fellow (Director Level) in a Fortune 25 Corporate Security organization, and pro bono support of over 400 NGOs/churches. He is now the Principal Owner for Ask McConnell, LLC, servicing clients by solving key security pain points from a Converged Security perspective. Jim has 15 US Patents and published two books on Converged Security Metrics and another on Converged Safety Metrics. Jim is also a volunteer first responder and adjunct at Texas A&M-TEEX.
Jim has recently embarked on a pro bono project helping Job Seekers, HR Recruiters, and Companies on the ever-increasing career search related frauds and scams through investigating over 1000 fraudulent individual profiles and providing senior executives at LinkedIn with comprehensive fraud/scam prevention solutions. This project has had Jim teach on this topic and provide resources to job seekers, HR, fraud support groups along with 30 brand breached corporations, across the USA and 3 countries in the last 12 months.
